Comments like this will be the downfall of John Mccain. I don't know about anyone else out there, but as a voter in the up and coming election the very notion of being mired up in Iraq until 2013 makes me sick to even think about.

Do we really want five more years of death and destruction? Not to mention having to finance this debacle for another half decade. John Mccain is either too old to use common sense or he is clearly insane. Does he believe that this is what the American people actually want?

Yeah, what does he care about our kids? And the kids of the Iraqis.

I think that they have planned it exactly the way it is going.
If we had won it in 6 months like we could have, the game would be over and TPTB would have to find something else to do. They love these little sniper games that are going on. It's entertainment for them, sort of like the gladiator fights were to the Romans.

If they were going to have a war they should have made it a good all-out war. Clear the land from border to border killing everything that moves.
Our casualties would be limited to malfuntioning equipment.

Then we own the land and the oil would be ours.
Then there would be no excuse for the current outrageous price of gas.

The sad thing is, McCain is basically stabbing himself in the foot here by being too honest.

Bush at least has the sense to lie about these things

If we're going to stay in Iraq until things are "fixed", we're going to be there for a long time. 2013 is an optimistic guess...

There IS no winning there. Ask the minutemen and the British army. More delusional talk while we suck and pump as much black gold out with as many years left Americans will allow.
