What does explain things domestically is a huge increase in Oil prices. The reason: China's booming economy placing higher demand for Oil consumption
and resources.
Increase in Oil prices means an increase in Gas prices. Increase in Gas prices means an increase in Food prices. Trucking companies are charging the
Grocery stores more for delivery. Many private trucking companies are closing-up shop.

Many people are falling for the second line of your statement, "What does explain things domestically is a huge increase in Oil prices".
What you are missing my friend is unbelievable increase in oil company profits. Billions of dollars in increased profits. If the increase in the cost
of gasoline were only due to the increase in the cost of a barrell of oil, the profits of the oil companies would not increase at all.
Alas the oil companies see the increase in the price of crude oil as an opportunity to rape the american consumer and lay the blame on the world's
oil producers. You don't need to be an economist to see this.
It is sad to me to not hear the MSM proffering this information. Instead they come out every day declaring that gas will soon be, $3.50, $4.00, $5.00
a gallon (up and up and up), and everytime they do it do you think the oil companies are not going to say, "Ok, they expect it, raise it again"?
Someone needs to intervene in these vulgar oil company profits. That's where the paramount blame lies, not in the cost of a barrell of oil.
