I believe earthquake clouds have been descibed as long bands of clouds. On our thead "An Experiment in Alternative Methods of Earthquake Prediction", there are a couple links in the original post to information and photographs of earthquake clouds.

It does look something like that but it can also do it if there is a storm and the tide at sea!
