The US asking Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism?
That's rich.
Last I checked America gave
$2.46 billion dollars in "aid" to Israel last year.
www.worldpolicy.org...
The same nation with a long track record of "accidentally" killing civilians in order to nail a few insurgents:
1996 Shelling of Qana: 106 Civilians killed
2006 Qana Airstrike: 50 Civilians killed
2006 Chyah Airstrike: 61 Civilians killed
2006 Ghaziyeh airstrikes: 15 Civilians killed
2006 2006 Marjayoun convoy: 7 Civilians killed
For god's sake how long is the US going to preach this double standard to other nations like Syria, Iran, Pakistan and N.Korea that they need to pull
up their socks when America is funding the problem themselves.
How quickly we forget history...
Who gave Saddam chemical precursors to kill Kurds with and military hardware to wage war against the Iranians?
Who funded the Nicaraguan Contras who slaughtered hundred's of thousands of civilians?
Who gave Stinger missiles to the Taliban in the 1980's to shoot down Soviet planes with?
Yes it's unacceptable for terrorists to use Pakistan as a staging ground for launching attacks against US Forces but it's also unacceptable to tell
others they need to come clean when you yourself have an extremely checkered history.
"Learn to obey, before you command." Is what the US must respect here.
You can't tell me Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf is going to take such a statement seriously coming from the Administration who outright lied to
everyone about the WMD threat from Iraq.
The hypocrisy of US Foreign Policy is what drives the open defiance of America's hegemony around the world.
Nobody is going to listen to Ultimatums from the Administration who without any reasonable justification invaded two sovereign countries.
I think that's why the world is inherently unstable now, America has been loosing it's influence simply because it took that step over the line and
started committing the same wrongs other nations do, and two wrongs don't make a right do they?
And now it's paying the price for it.
