As doing nothing thus ends your dream of freedom through occupation of others. See, if you don't add to society then you detract from it. You make it weaker.

Under your premise you would be very free, until the day invading forces came in and burned your forests and killed you for your land. There would be no protection if everyone chose your path.

While it is a wonderful life to have, it's a dream that won't come true. Eventually some one would remove you for the land, and that would be a true shame. And your government could do nothing for you, because in no way had you aided in the government being able to aid you. You had produced nothing so the government has nothing to defend you with.

Sadly, the world is to full for such an existance. The Population is to great. You wish to remove yourself FROM Society, which can be done where you are now. I'm sure eventually your government will have something to say about it, or you will when ever you need government services. We must find how best to maximize society for the good of all.

I too have great respect for the Hamish. I enjoy the idea of community and working together, although I must admit I do not share it in my land. But your idea is fine my friend.

Now you say that you want a Free Land, so can I offer a Sea Land? It is the freest “land” on this small marble. Of course it is nothing more than a WWII fort in the North Sea, but it is definitely free (shots across the Royal Navy’s bows proved that).

Enough money and a tanker or ten full of sand and voila a land to call your own.

In terms of national cost it is also a bargain.

Thats the point jimbo a country as I speak of does not exist, but if it did would you move to that country or stay in the U.S. either way and why? Most countries are taken and they are either corrupt, bankrupt, a dictatorship, communist, Monarch, socialist, Totalitarian or military rule. Yes there are democracies, republics, representative democracies and any kind of government you can think of and they all have their problems. There are no perfect governments because humans are involved instead of robots. LOL Rik Riley

(Thomas Jefferson Quotes)

[Quote] The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

[Quote] To compel a man to subsidize with taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

[Quote] When the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe.

OK, but by your very own definition, no perfect country exsists. So I take it this a rhetorical question then? Where exactly do you feel the US stands in this list of problematic countries? And if it's high on the list of 'better' places to live, is is not worth staying and trying to improve it?

I have no reason to like you, you have done nothing for me has the President of Freeland and I see you has weak. You’re a target, unless your land is small and devoid of anything that makes wealth of course. Otherwise I’m going to try my hardest to make you see it my way, and you will eventually because I’m playing the long game. I think in long decades, while you think in terms. I will win, you will lose.

My first action is to wait and watch for division in your group and exploit it. Then my people will demonstrate their prowess at pursuance, and guarantee their superiority through a combination of being properly good blokes and great in a fight. We are British after all (only the Americans dismiss us). Your rule will be slowly eroded by my offer because you’re offering nothing but retreat.

I win, you lose and the cycle goes round has you fight for the Freeland you threw away. It’s not a new story.

We should worry because 'your British'?? Heck, I think Freedomland may be safe from invasion forever!

To The OP:

It's just too bad it will probably turn into just another mini-dictatorship in the end. I think it's great that people still want to find freedom somewhere, and I'm not saying it's impossible either, but this plan sounds uccannily like the early pioneering days to me. Idealistic, but perhaps in the end, inneffective.

There is always someone who wants to take it away from you

Luckily, the Brits can't take out the garbage these days, so don't worry about that angle heh!

Hi jimbo, as bad as things seem to be going sometimes in the U.S. it is still one of the best places in the world to live. We in the U.S. are at a turning point in our nations history to stay the course of the conservative agenda or go toward a socialistic or Communistic government. You have one democratic candidate that is very far to the left and the other candidate far left and a Republican candidate that is middle of the road of which I would call a democrat verses a Republican.

I was asked a question today and the question was are you glad you live in The United States of America verses Burma or China. The answer was obvious, The United States Of America no question. The answer is yes, it is worth staying in the U.S. to help make it a better place to live. We have had millions die and shed their blood for we the people to keep our freedom and our homeland. We live in scary times, and the next 5 years I believe will determine the future of this great nation more than any time in history.

The Mythical country called Freedom Land is an exercise in progress in setting up a limited government and to see peoples reaction to moving and starting all over in a free country. It would not be easy but we have excited individuals that have the pioneering spirit to start over in a land with new founded Freedom.

Again there is no perfect government or country and a government in total does not make a country but the citizens of that country make their country. Rik Riley

Heck! You don’t read books do you. I can tell because you seem to have forgotten your World Power 101, especially the bit about the British Empire. But I tell what we’ll let it lie. I mean it’s not like the Marines were going over the top in France wearing British helmets is it?

My neighbour lives in a house older than America.

Your doomed Rik if idiots like this move to your land.
