Did America Install the Oppressive Junta in Myanmar?

www.newsweek.com

[The Present]
John McCain's choice to manage the GOP convention this summer is lobbyist Doug Goodyear, whose firm once represented Burma's repressive regime.

[The Past]
Ríos Montt seized power in a coup d'état, that was quietly backed by the CIA, deposing General Romeo Lucas García. They set up a military junta with Ríos Montt at its head. The junta immediately suspended the constitution, shut down the legislature, set up secret tribunals, and began a campaign against political dissidents kidnapping, torture, and extra-judicial assassinations.

Did america install the Junta in Burma?

Also, 1950s -- CIA supported a right-wing coup in Greece. Subsequent military junta is friendly to US, while torturing and murdering natives.

How America created the Greek junta:

1958-1965 -- U.S. removed President Sukharno of Indonesia and installed the junta of Suharto.

1980s -- backed and trained El Salvadoran death squads in the ruling right-wing junta.

Isn't that the M.O.? Covertly install, back and support one of these opressive regimes... and then get rid of them when they are no longer useful or beneficial to the agenda...?

For some reason, the link to this lengthy doc comes to mind...

No the United States did not.

United Kingdom and the United States do not recognise the junta or the Country's name "Myanmar" (which the junta changed.)

Our two nations refer to it as Burma, as what the nation was called on independence from the British Empire.

Is there any way possible to blame this on either Bush or just even the Republicans in general?

McCain has been in politics a long time. Maybe his cell buddy in Hanoi was one of the leaders of this country, someone better Wiki that.

I'm sure, no, positive; the USA had an effect on the storm and devastation that just occurred in their region. Probably ties in with chemtrails or silver iodine somehow.

and it goes on... and on....

Yes, don't you know? The U.S. is responsible for everything that goes wrong in the world. It's really pretty easy that way, you don't have to think as much.

It's good to see the members of ATS are on the ball as usual, even if it is a tad predictable that this is the way we'd be going with this.

It would seem that DCI are involved in numerous pharma companies, Coca Cola, ExxonMobil, the General motors corporation*, Google, and even Microsoft.

They get about a bit, they do.

An interesting article about a spoof on Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" was apparently attributed to DCI property.

Which can be viewed here;

www.post-gazette.com...

So not only do they have corporate interests, but political too.

I think that this DCI malarky may be a cover for something far more nefarious, or at least it may be serving as a power node for those who would wish to promote or hinder certain organisations or ideologies.

It would serve to keep an eye open.

Because it will be pretty idiotic to assume the United States is responsible for creating a junta, which she feels is odious and repugnant.

It is common fact the Western corporate complex has worked around embargo's and international pressure.

Found a text on this that may shed some light on the issue further;

Text can be found here

[from www.burmainfo.org]

The campaign was on the verge of success -- the State Department was about to certify the
regime -- but the administration backed off amid pressure from the Hill, human rights groups and the
media.

Our recently acquanted friend Doug Goodyear isn't mentioned, but at least it's a clue as to the kind of activity the DCI were up to in 03'.

Maybe it isn't true that the DCI helped install the regime*, and the news heading is a little unfair.

But i know one thing;

This is nothing more than Pro-Junta propoganda being used for the interests of the American State.

*Not in terms of administration, at least.
