If it was self deprecating humor he still shouldn't quit his day job.
Geez, the Obama apologists are coming out of the woodwork, blinders on and all.

Try and be respectful to the other posters.
I am not an "Obama apologist". I am not even voting for Obama (which I have said 3 times now), so your "blinders and all" comment is just
premature and rather immature. I am just being objective.
And by being objective, it is clear he was joking. You saying he is using "America as the butt of a joke" is just absurd. You need to lighten up
man. It was humor. Try and laugh (even though it wasn't funny).

Blinders on? This is more totally selective and taken out of context crap coming from the neo-con right-wing controlled main stream media. Muslim,
Rev. Wright, NAFTA, blah blah, blah, you are being spoonfed a firm brainwashing by the neo-cons!
Obama was not making a joke about America, he was making a joke as to the length and efforts he and Hillary have gone through in this Democratic
nomination battle? What do you not get about that? Forget the lapel pin, non-patrotic argument just for a moment, it is clouding your judgement.
BTW, go search YouTube for the video of Bush making a mockery of America (yeah, making a joke OUT OF America) at the Girdiron "elitist" night a few
months ago, singing and dancing including the lyrics of "here comes Cheney with the papers he's been withholding"....now that makes me sick. Did
that make the news, no! This "57" states comment did, more proof of totally selective and taken out of context crap coming from the neo-con
right-wing controlled main stream media! Wake up, there is only one choice for us to unite for change. Or do you want to see the end of times?

Don't pigeon hole me, I'm no neocon.
I've seen Bush's vid and I didn't think that was funny either.
"It was a defining moment of the worst kind imaginable,’’ Quayle wrote in the autobiography. "Politicians live and die by the symbolic sound

You say YoBama made a joke, well if he did, I don't think it started off that way. He did a quick two step and brought up his staff to deter
attention away from himself.
I don't understand all the favoritism towards this guy, he is like a spoiled, over protected, little rich kid, goody two shoes brat that always gets
bailed out at the earliest sign of trouble.
A prima donna that can do no wrong, shame on those that criticize him.
The way people are so quick to come to his defense only shows he can't take the punches.
I don't know if you know this but Leno and Letterman are waiting.
So do YoBama and this country a big favor, toughen him up before he gets to the White House, please.

What do the reactions in this thread have to do with "YoBama's" toughness
And why are you calling him "YoBama"?

Good way to put it, Alexandro.
Obama still has a long road to Hoe. Hilliary isn't done yet and he still has to take on McCain. His associations and utter disrespect for America are
about to come into full view here pretty soon.

Perhaps you two can create a new thread on why Obama would make a bad president? That way you are "on topic".
I would read it

Ok, it's obvious you're being completely unreasonable here, so I'm just going to let this one sit for awhile while you calm down.
You should know I'm not racist, and taking this '57 states' as a DEROGATORY joke is just plain over the edge and ridiculous.

You and your topic BS. Think outside the lines a little bit. Isn't that what you extreme Socialist loving fools brag about it? Funny, because
Socialism is all about state sponsor-ship. No room for innovation, something that America a SuperPower based on Capitalism in the first place.

His associations and utter disrespect for America

Yes, and this is what you all should be looking for instead of war, or lying, or cheating, or torture.
This is what REALLY defines a good president!
Jexnet, I get the impression you would vote for Hitler himself if he was more patriotic and had good friends.

Do you not see how you're pushing this to an extreme level?
What part are you missing? Someone makes a joke about a long campaign, and all of a sudden they think the country is nothing but a joke.
Get real Alexandro. I thought you had more sense than this.

All I'm saying is I sure hope Obama can handle the pressure that comes with being President, because you as a follower appear as if you are just
about to have a mental breakdown from a simple discussion.
Take a break from your PC.

Yeah Alxandro, you've got me pegged.
To me, this isn't a discussion at all, but some people seem to create a wild one from a non-issue.

There are 57 muslim states. You think Obama was accidentally thinking about his true allegiance?

No. I don't think he was accidentally thinking that. I don't need to. It is clearly a joke...
However, 57 Muslim states is an interesting juxtaposition. Perhaps his joke had a double meaning. That would make it much more funny... if he was also
playing on the people that are trying to turn him into a Muslim, when he is not.
**I am by no way saying there is something wrong with being a Muslim**

Because I think what you said was misleading. Here is the source of that statement (Organization of Islamic Conference):
The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57
nations, most of which are Islamic, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America. The
official languages of the organization are Arabic, English and French.

Allah forbid you wouldn't be politcally correct Lucid. I was about ready to open up a can of whupazz on you until I saw your clarification statement
about not offending Muslims.
Granted, we are the most violent relgion based on militant principals, as Mohammad was a soldier who gave our enemies a chance to convert before we
killed them.
Would you like to join our club Lucid? All you have to do is carry this pretty little Red backpack into a crowded resteraunt.
