So the guy was already in jail and fed his oatmeal cookie to another prisoner who wasn't allowed to have the snack. Judge gives him 30 days in jail, excessive much?

That's bloody ridiculous. Denying him food?.. He was just helping the guy out, and they lock him up for it, and fine him! They really need to start hiring intelligent, and/or compassionate people.

And yet, no mention of why the other guy wasn't allowed to have it. Perhaps there was a legitimate medical reason. We simply don't know.

medical reason or not the guy can make his own choice of what he is able to eat. and besides that i can understand a fine for possibly disrupting whats going on or causing harm to the other guy. But sentenced for a month? what good does that do to the guy? What about his job, his wife, kids, family, etc...all for sharing a cookie? It's not like he was passing around drugs on the inside.

In prison, you forfeit your rights. Violate an order you pay a large price. Thats what you get for being a criminal.
