Spells to Be Cast at Anti-Marine Rally in California

www.foxnews.com

An anti-war group was expected to use witchcraft Friday morning in its protest of a controversial Marine Corps Recruiting Center in Berkeley, Calif., organizers tell FOXNews.com.

The women's group was expected to rally armed with spells and pointy hats for its "Witches, clowns and sirens day" at the center.

"Women are coming to cast spells and do rituals and to impart wisdom to figure out how we're going to end war," Zanne Sam Joi of Bay Area Code Pink told FOXNews.com.

The group's Mother's Day week of themed protests, which included days to galvanize grannies and bring-your-daughter-to-protest, appears to have done little to boost its flagging numbers.

While I certainly support everyone's right to protest anything they would like to; I wonder why this group seems to have targeted the USMC and not the decision makers.

It would be interesting to have an independent analytical assessment as to the effectiveness of their incantations.

Well if US military presence in Iraq will not achieve its goals - the big guys will now have someone to blame it for. Imagine the headlines -"Withes cursed USMC" ....
I agree that protest has to be creative to win hearts of people, but this is hardly the way....

Perhaps they will have some "exchange witches" from the Congo to cast a penis shrinking spell. Now THAT would probably scare some Marines. I think it is more about raising public awareness of witches than it is about the Marines though.

this is nothing but a cheesy grab for attention and publicity. anyone practicing a real form of magick or occult practice wouldent go on national record saying they were "casting spells" against some one. sendings are usualy personal things not to be taken lightly or used as a means of getting attention.

Because it's Berkeley, the last place in the US where anti-soldier sentiment (as opposed to anti-war) is still socially acceptable

People like that are the perfect mirror image of the BushCo. robots - self-righteous and total true believers. I've known enough to know

However I kind of hope they manage to turn Dick Cheney into a toad

Fear?
I think the closest thing this got to an emotional reaction was people laughing thier asses off at the idiocy of Code Pink. They are almost as crazy as those whackjobs that pryed for lower gas prices. But at least they were praying for something positive.

No one, and I mean Noone, is afraid of a bunch of crazy ass old women muttering to themselves in pointy hats, not even when they call it "spellcasting".

Wrong. A bunch of old women muttering to themselves ? Spellcasting ?

And you're laughing ? You've got to be crazier than an outhouse rat !

Run. Run fast. Run away from them.

I'm confused as to which external source is off.

...which they promised would include incantations and pointy hats for a "witches, crones and sirens" day.

I must admit, an anti-war clown would be a new breed of protest.

Finally, wouldn't war be a natural part of the destructive cycle?

This is quite hilarious. This doesn't help the whole "anti-war" movement one bit, if anything, it paints everyone as a bunch of crazys.

You haven't been to San Francisco then. I personally wouldn't mind seeing that place falling off into the pacific.
