Will the Lebenon conflict spark Middle East War?

Hezbollah is accusing Beirut's goverment in backing the West. Hezbollah is backed by Shiite's from Iran which is mostly Shiite. While Syria, Eygpt, Saudia Arabia are Sunni. Why hasent the Lebenese army entered to confront the street battles? What does this mean for the region?

A:Mainly because the lebanese army consists of a couple of land rovers with water pistols on the back.

The corrupt government officials take every available scrap of cash preventing any kind of improvement in the military/social structure in Lebanon.

The population are still self-funding repairs from the first civil war.Israel and Syria used their territory as a giant training ground.

Now they have to pay for the last load of devastation from Israel..

If you can find a way to finance an army..post any suggestions you have.. I'll pass them on..

There are plenty of parties wanting this region to be unstable so they can sell weapons etc etc. What Im wondering is why there has not been any word from the goverment.

The lebonon conflict will not spark any kind of war in the middle east, but it will spark many question concerning the lebonies government.

Hizbullah is not supported by shias only, Hizbullah is backed up by top sunnas and christians. The conflict is not between different religions and beliefs anymore. Look at the big picture: the conflict is between people that are supported by America vs people that are supported by iran.

When has the middle east been free of war? Wars for religion and wars for oil. The heat makes people crazy as well.

Personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep if they all blew eachother up.
