who has got the best Avatar at ATS

I can't help but love your avatar Extralien, I'm a big fan of 2001. This is one of the first avatars I created by animating several different still images from the film when I first joined ATS 4 years ago:



I used it for over a year and then created this from scratch because I wanted a better hal image but I couldn't find one:



The animated gif compression kills gradients but I had to accept the above quality because I wanted the animation.

So I thought I would create just a still png image so the gradients looked really good.



I have many more versions but haven't used them in a loooong time.

Mines a montage of a few things..

The monolith from the film 2001, a space odyssey.
The candle is from a random picture i found.
I put the ATS and the candle in the monolith as, in the film, the monolith is supposed to be full of stars... ATS being the first three letters of star, but reversed as is the water 'flame' on the candle reversed, there is almost no light coming from the candle either. So a 'no light' candle inside a pitch black monolith is almost pointless but it has a purpose (whatever that is) for being there.

All that blended onto a barren desolate landscape. A void ready to accept a new beginning.

Will I dream, wasn't that a powerful scene? And the slow power down while singing the Daisy song. Man I love that movie....

I love the original Dune too but haven't translated that into an avatar yet. Maybe that will be my next project.

I loved my old one. When I first became a mod the staff all wanted to know what it was. It was a sonogram of my friend's daughter and she was flipping the bird.

Yeah, it took me quite a long time to figure out exactly what was going on with your first avvy. I thought is was an alien baby or something.

Edit to add: Your newest is not only good its pretty darn funny too. I love it when the farmer shoots the saucer in the rear! lol Keep up the good work. I use photoshop, lightwave 7, poser 7 and a few others. Did you do that last one in photoshop? Very creative.

kinglizard that one you made is awesome maybe my favorite!

also extralien your has always been one that caught my eye!

I have always wondered how many people either understand what my name and what my avatar represents (oddly enough not much talk on the subject in ATS). I cant take credit for mine though I know Bob wont care

made me wonder if there are any avatar design companies a couple of you could start one make some weekend monies!

Reading through this thread makes me want to get creative again
Maybe time for me to do a new one.

I love the way some peoples avatars evolve and change over time and think I may come up with some options to match my bg....different ones to reflect my mood maybe....any suggestions?
