How can congress lack any authority to examine Cheneney's behavior on the job. The approval of torture tactics used at Guantanamo Bay were above and beyond. Our troops are in harms way , and also subjected to POW conditions if captured. We must set a presidence if we expect the same for our troops. www.tbrnews.org...

Oh they slipped in a bill don't ya know. Giving presidential immunity to any war crime type of charges. Wish I'd saved it. Bout 2 yrs back, slipped it in nice and gentle under the radar and loaded between other documents the typical congressman/woman never thoroughly reads. So yes, the answer is congress can't do jack. Too busy bundling 10k's in foil in the freezers anyway.
I think the adm. is worried the veils are slipping off, which they are.

We've gone through this before back when Cheney was claiming that the Vice President was it's own department of government which had no oversight. He refused to allow anyone to view his email and records. The media got all worked up about it for a month or two and has since forgot about it.

There is no accountability for these guys. No one will hold them responsible for anything and the people don't care. Our attention spans are too short now. All they have to do is drag their feet for a few weeks and something new and shiny comes along and we all get distracted and forget about it.

Agree totally! Personally, they'll never let go of the power.. they're in to deep and if someone else comes in they'll know the game is up and it might back fire.. right? So, why not play the game backwards...start with the end in mind..what would it take to cover our tracks if we did this and such and such.. now THAT is planning and it takes ALOT of time.
