Classic US tactics: frame up your friend when it gets hot.

This article shows hypocratic nature of the US policy. Let alone America used this info (Did BND insist on its reliability?) they spreaded the news to all over the world seriously tainting image of Germany, its ally.
You know America gave birth to PR especially to the black one. And now the article averts the reader's attention from one MAIN thing – only US is to blame for this war in Iraq. Maybe it's a some kind of revenge to the European communty which warned them of consequences. Germany from the very beginning opposing the war now turns out to be the initiator. Stupid but very American.

Actually the BND representative in this article stresses out that they had unconfirmed information about biological weapon in Iraq. Noone told the US that it was for real. But spooks grasped the idea and organized a show with plausible reports. There are two possible explanations:

1. The US Intelligence community is absolutely unqualified and work on the off chance. In any case it was CIA who supplied the information to the US government not BND.

2. Having its own interests in Iraq US government was ready to "adjust" the current situation to any information. At the same time CIA gave Bush the information he needed to create a pretext fot invasion.

It doesn't matter anyway what explanation is correct. In both cases we haven't got much time to leave in peace if such people are in charge.
