This could have fallen under Mil and gov projects, but wanted to see a more open public mind set to it. Public sector if you will.

With DARPA developing the technology, and other groups doing the same, all that is needed is a joint international tech lab and combine the existing projects, and we could easily see a powered armor suit. Such an advanced and rapid change would alter combat and other conflicts so drastically. I would even go so far as to say, the future has been here for some time now.

It is just getting slowly released to the public for fine tuning. Many government projects have been released tot he public beause of the larger talent pool. Some times, I wonder with everything that is going on these days, and the past decade, if nothing isn't controlled any more.

With advances in exoskeletons and high-tech armor, Tony Stark's creation may be closer to reality than you think.
Build it

Just imagine, once man sized or slightly larger suits are perfected, true mechs will be next.

this guy who invented the bear-proof suit has done a bit more work in improvements.
