Why do we interact?

We have learned how to talk at an early age. We know how to be around other people. My question is... why do we do it? Why do we feel the need to be social? Is it because we need to have other people understand ourselves? Is it because our life would lack meaning if we didn't interact with others to share our ideals? Why is it so that we like interacting with others?

I think it's millions of years of evolution. Social skills lend to survival skills. A lone wolf cannot pull down a moose.
