The Changes made to the Posse Comitatus Act, in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2006 have been reversed. These changes made it easier for the president to invoke martial law. Now congress has stepped in and reversed the law and now once again our service members are limited to provided security and protection for us, instead of having the ability to be used against us. This is fantastic news, looks like congress still has a few live members in there.

I believe the posse comitatus act only limits the ability of the armed forces to act in a law enforcement capacity in the former Confederate states (see Wikipedia). Still, it is troubling that Congress suspended it in light of the uproar over homeland security since 9/11. It only takes an act of Congress, though, to suspend it again. Ron Paul is to be applauded for his efforts. It's much better to have the act in effect than not.

He cares about preserving the Republic as it was meant to be, defined in the constitution. He is running for president, hes been ALMOST completely censored by the main stream media. You can find plenty of clips on youtube of him speaking if you want to hear more. It doesn't matter where you're from or what nationality you are, his message is one that can apply to almost any western nation these days.

What kind of coverage of US elections have you seen in the UK?
