First off,
zero7, thank you for sharing something that doesn't come neither from Mars nor from the Moon:
This looks to be an imageering issue, perhaps due to the work needed in order to connect different "stripes" collected during different orbits.
Here you can see what's the work that they do when they want to compose a mosaic with the stripes:
You can notice that there's a series of parallel strikes, each one of them fits the orientation of its original stripe:
in my opinion, the structures are the result of a unwanted "sliding" of the original formation, given their perfect match with the orientation of
the stripe.
Basically, i guess that these (roughly) are the changes occurred during the
process:
