wo Canadian activists planning to protest during Hong Kong's leg of the Olympic torch relay were among a handful of foreigners promptly deported upon arrival at Hong Kong's international airport Tuesday, the activists say....
The activist group says the two Canadians were detained and questioned for three hours after arriving at Hong Kong International Airport.

Woznow told the Associated Press by phone before takeoff that immigration officials questioned her about her trip but gave no reason for turning her back.

Elsewhere in the article they talk about using 3,000 officers to guard the flame as it passes thru Hong Kong.
Welcome to the police state. Any doubt about China's stranglehold on Hong Kong?
Good luck to anyone planning to attend the actual Olympic games. Spend all kinds of money to get there just to get deported back on arrival.

Good. Who do these uppity Canuks think they are anyway? You can't just go protest anywhere in the world you want to, you know? America's imperialistic arm of Freedom hasn't reached that far yet.

If they had 3,000 police just for the torch run, what will they have for the actual Olympics? Will there be any room for spectators? What if members of the audience at the Olympics spontaneously conduct some simple protest during the games, will the police turn on them? Would the Chinese police state tolerate the visitors or is their military machinery so hair-triggered as to automatically turn the event into a new Tiennanmen?
