I totally agree with this. I don't know if Freemasons are the anti-NWO, but there is some serious misdirection and disinformation going on (and not just about Freemasons)...

Oh, and Alex Jones scares me too! I'm not worried about my 'nards so much, mainly because I don't have any, but yeah, he seems like a somewhat violent man. I'm not sure how his brand of fearmongering can be useful to anything other than building his bank account.

I've always been open to all opinions about all subjects. To me, there is a difference between researching for a possible connection between the NWO and Freemasonry and going on a witchhunt to burn Masons at the stake. Of all of your posts I've read you do more of latter.

I don't see any conspiracy when a Mason defends Freemasonry. Like many other organized groups in the world Freemasonry probably has its share of members who have done things that reflect badly on Freemasonry as a whole. In other words... Theres a prick in every group. And it only takes one to give the wole group a bad rap.

Further more, why is it odd that Freemasons would want to post on a message board about Freemasonry??? Isn't that a subject that they would know a lot about? And on a message board thats pretty much dedicated to ideas and theories based upon plots involving Masons, it's nice knowing that there are several experts in that area here to shed light on the subject.... you know people who have lived through it... people who are Masons.

If you don't take them for their word thats your problem. Of all the men I've known in my life there a several who have stood out to me as people that I've looked up too, respected greatly, and trusted. I found out at different points in time later, that they were all Masons.

Since I joined this forum about a year ago or so, I've read quite a bit of material in the archives. All the material I've been through has brought me to the conclusion that a Masonic conspiracy is extremely unlikely. Bad Masons, yes. Theres always a black sheep in every family. Grand Masonic Conspiracy to rule the world, I think not.

How exacty would one go about investigating? ....or do you mean you'll be reading websites, Googling, etc.?

Temples are buildings. Lodges are the groups of Freemasons. Is a difference, donchaknow? There's 3 Lodges meet in our Temple. Does that mean there's 3 Temples in your lexicon?

As we all know, many words today have multiple usages. Their meanings change in the context that you are using them. A "Temple" in the context of Masonry is defined as another name for a Masonic building. The word is used in the same sense that Justice Wendell Holmes called the Supreme Court a " Temple of Justice ." Most lodges now refer to their buildings as Masonic Centers.

We don't have a temple in my town.

We have a 'Masonic Center' in which three lodges meet.

We are not allowed to discuss religion in the lodge, so it would be pretty hard to 'be' a religion if you can't talk about religion.

We DO talk about things like:

- temperance
- fortitude
- prudence
- justice
- brotherly love
- relief
- truth
- faith
- hope
- charity
- wisdom
- strength
- beauty

... but not religion and not politics.

This is what I love about these mason arguments... one mason will verify that they use the word temple to identify with their place of "worship" or meeting. Then you get another that says that the word is not used in the same context in the mason community as the general community.

Are they saying their language is all different than ours and that's why we can't get a straight answer from them? I get this in every thread about masons, they will do this exact thing every single time....

Of course you've noticed that with your 39pages of derailment that started from the first post.

My lodge is still refered to as a Masonic Temple, however three of the other lodges in my district all meet in the same place which is called a Masonic Center.

Please read the following definitions from Webster's Dictionary, you know, the thing that really tells you what words mean....

2: a local lodge of any of various fraternal orders ; also : the building housing it
3: a place devoted to a special purpose

Some Lodge buildings are called "temples", others are called "lodges". So what?

I guess I just don't understand why it matters. Even if Freemasonry *was* a religion....so what? What's it to you guys? This is America, and I can practice whatever religion I want.

That site has nothing but one man's opinion that Freemasonry is NOT Christianity.

I will admit that Blue Lodge Masonry is not Christianity.

I will also admit that I am not a horse, but that does not logically mean I am automatically a donkey because a veterinarian says I'm not a horse.

But again... my opinion versus yours. :-)
