I happened to catch an excellent episode of "Beyond Tomarrow" they mentioned this Australian company which has a telescope which can identify and track "space junk".
A quick search revealed this link

The telescope photgraphed the junk and created computerized tracking model based on size/speed down to a cm in size.

If there are UFOs out there surely this system has photographed. They mentioned wanting to build ten more.

Sure space junk is a big problem. Does this system have other uses?

More on EOS >>
EOS employs sophisticated satellite laser ranging technologies to carry out surveillance of space assets. The aim of EOS is to assist agencies, government bodies and large corporations to prevent or mitigate threats against these assets, thereby avoiding huge losses to capital and human life.

EOS’s systems have been proven to increase information about known objects in space and to find objects previously undetected (a market worth AU$150 million by 2010).

EOS has completed two successful pilot studies for the United States Air Force where space debris of less than 10cm were tracked and catalogued
