I am getting so tired of censorship on Comcast. They censor swearing, violence, sex, drugs. They always cut out the climax of the scene if it's graphic and cut to commercial.

I MEAN, THEY DELETE such shots, scenes and words from movies ... even if they are academy award winning movies, or classic movies, or popular science fiction films, or ghetto movies.

THOSE SCENES AND WORDS are part of the writer's message.

I DON'T GET IT ... it's all right for governments to do genocide and war in reality...
...but, it's not all right to portray that violence as an artist in order to affect people and wake them up with a reality sandwich?

It's already INSULTING enough to watch the news because of the lack of truth and relevance ... now, they have to destroy movies, too?

Dont you know that the movie-industry is the right hand of the corporate elite?
Even the fact that you watch movies in stead of revolting is what they have done to you. Movies are there only for people to waste their time on.
Furthermore, its not recent is it, the censoring of movies; they have been doing it for a long time, especially during wars and 'police actions'.
Half of the film-industry is there for propaganda-purposes, if not more.

As all other things movies are good when they enjoyed in moderation. There are times where a hard day's work has left me dim in mood and a good movie has lifted my spirit; so I can see when an appreciable scene is expected to approach by the viewer and has been cannibalized how it might be received. There are very few shows that I would consider to watch, most of them now canceled, and for the news I depend mostly on ATSNN. Most of the news here you will not find being reported by the MSM. Most movies I would not bother watching on television and the only time it shares my company is when Supernatural is on.

That may be one interpretation of the film-industry

Wow, that entire post made me think of a Stalinesque "every minute of your day should be occupied by something productive to the needs of the many" rhetoric. Movies are not a waste of time if you get enjoyment from them. By definition, relaxation and enjoyment are a benefit to you and therefore anything that provides a benefit to you is not a waste... at least not in the micro-sense of things. Perhaps a person watching movies is of no benefit to everyone else because you're not out there doing something that directly benefits them, but we're not here to benefit everyone else 24/7 now, are we? If we are, then sign me out because that's a sort of socialistic slavery right there.

To the OP, can you please explain what this thread is about? Are you talking about Comcast's on demand movies? If not, then the networks for the most part are responsible for editing the movies they show, including selecting where to place the intermissions and such. The only bullcrap from Comcast I've seen is their cut into ESPNNews' commercials with local commercials, which is a royal pain since the local commercials kill the little sports ticker at the bottom of the screen that gives out the scores & news. That means while the feed is continuing to roll through scores, nobody can watch them because there's a full screen local commercial playing over them.

I had to go with "Crimecast" because of our association. They Informed us that things would be going high def if they had their way in congress. Low and behold 2 years later.....
