Somalia's pirates face battles at sea

I didn't realize that piracy on the open seas was this rampant.
The article tells of at least 31 attacks/attempted attacks off the coast of Somalia in the past year.
The last thought I want to have on a cruise ship is being pirated and held hostage indefinitely.
I am all for the new proposals from the UN, and hope they pass with little or no objection.
With the pirates becoming more and more brazen ( US WARSHIP ), I wonder if it will get worse before it gets better.
