good observation!
few people seem to realise that a planned economy does not require nationalised farming, all it needs is people who have the power and are willing to
centrally manage agriculture.
considering the amount of annual subsidies and their associated requirements (quotas, crop choice, etc) and rigid, biased contracts by GM seed
companies, it's clear that planned economy is back in force. what's worse is that the west alledgedly endured and eventually prevailed in the cold
war just to escape the dystopia of central planning (and omnipotent surveillance states), but i'm going off a tangent.
