Who to believe? On one hand, as we heard on National Public Radio yesterday, former President Jimmy Carter says he wasn't told by the Bush Administration that he shouldn't meet with Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist and political organization.

On the other, we have the State Department and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice saying that Carter was told in no uncertain terms not to meet with Hamas.

Actually, that's not what Rice seems to have said as she travels through the middle east.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

If Carter was specifically told by the State Department not to meet with Hamas, he could be breaking the law. Is Rice changing her wording and tone a bit in order to prevent his being arrested? And is Carter so dedicated to this meeting that he would risk that?

Carter is fooling no one but himself and the extremely gullible.

He's not going to prison. No one will do anything but forget in very short order that he ever met with Hamas.

Hamas agreed to nothing substantive. They said that they will never recognize the State of Israel and every concession they have been said to have made is contingent on matters with which Israel is likely to never agree.

We've been here before. Once during his administration and once during Clinton's and so far no long term solutions to the conflicts between Israel and the Arab states have been found.

The first two times Israel was an active participant and nothing changed.

When will Carter and others learn. You can't trust terrorists and Islam will never peacefully coexist with a Jewish state.
