Is Gasoline going to $6.00 a gallon?

I do thank the moderator for opening this forum topic.. The cost of our energy is dictated by those with greed as a theocracy. It will be only a short time till $7.oo will be accepted and paid for gasoline. I do not know what will be the tipping point under which nationalization of this resource will be demanded even by the republicans. It is coming sooner than later.
I can foresee a grass roots swelling even as heard in the " news " media
with the truckers about to park their trucks.

Thanks Ahabstar for your input and putting light on the matter of higher gas prices in Europe because of socialism and I think this thing called socialism is headed to the U.S. like it or not.

Hi Burginthorn, thanks for sharing about what is happening down under. We here in the U.S. forget that other countries are being affected as much or more so then here.

I was in Australia in 1985 I love the country and people. We think we have it tough and already you are paying approx. $6.00 a gal. in comparison to the U.S. market. Rik Riley

Hi madashell, I think you bring up a valid point and what do we here in the U.S. consider the breaking point when it comes to high gas and diesel prices.

The nationalization of the oil companies in the U.S. I think would backfire and make things worse, but before that happens price controls would be set in place. When long lines and shortages of gasoline, diesel and food start to take place this could set off a gasoline rebellion. Rik Riley

The only person running for office so far that has tried to help the people of this country as far as gas and diesel prices is John McCain. He proposed dropping the federal tax on gas and diesel during the summer months of this year.

Although I do not share many of his political views this is the only person to come forward at this time to try to help the American people. The problem is the politicians in Washington D.C. won't want to let go of their cash cow. Yes this is a temporary fix but something is better then nothing especially with food prices skyrocketing. A couple national sick days in a row will show the power is the people. Organize and boycott. They will lose millions in a couple of days and when it backs up in the tanks OPEC is F*c**d. Then we we what the oil men do and thats shudder to thier core, when random sick days get planned.

Beat them down by organizing. Supply and demand. Turn it to supply and no demand.

Hi Illahee, yes it will take an orchestrated effort by the people to stick together for a boycott to work against the oil companies. Remember the oil companies can also turn it around on us quickly and start cutting back production while further more raising gas and diesel prices.

I can remember even odd days when gas was rationed back in the 1970s which was determined by your tag number or other means. Rik Riley

Hi hinky, yes how time does fly and growing up in the 50s and early 60s were good times. I can remember my first McDonalds hamburger and fries in Memphis TN. 20 cents for the burger and 15 cents for the fries LOL. Those were the good old days plus listening to Elvis on the radio.

Today we are faced with one of the most serious times in our Nations history. We must make the right decisions as a Nation and pull away from the use of oil for our automobiles. Hydrogen is the best solution for fuel for our autos in my opinion and I am not talking of using hydrogen derived from oil. I am talking about cracking water to get the hydrogen needed to run our country. The Technology is there today all we have to do is switch over and utilize hydrogen for our vehicles. Rik Riley

But, in all seriousness... I don't think gas will reach $6.00 per gallon. The American people are already at their breaking point. We'll take to the streets long before $6.00, and something will be done about the whole situation.

I think we could solve the problem by thinning the herd in China and India by way of some good old nuclear peacemakers from our ICBM subs! We wanted so badly to "Americanize" the rest of the world in the past. And now that they are becoming more like us (ie: over-consuming pigs), we're starting to pay the price. So, we can either make the painful adjustment and kiss the lives of luxury we currently live goodbye, or we can take the "screw everyone else" policy and defend our rights to live better than the rest of the world! Now before you answer with ridicule and dreams of world peace and solar powered cars, take a look around the room you're sitting in and tell me that you're honestly willing to give that all up just so someone on the other side of the world can live that way instead of you!

Now, most of what I just said was sarcastic and not my actual beliefs. Of course I am not the kind of person who wants to go around nuking the rest of the world. But underneath my sarcasm and pitiful attempts at humor lies some truth. Our days of living high on the hog are coming to an end. Are we as Americans really willing to give that all up without a fight? It's easy for us to sit here now and say that we want equality with the rest of the world. But it's going to take a lot of sacrifice on our parts to genuinely achieve that given the current world population and technology. And that's not even taking environmental concerns into consideration!

Some very dark days lie ahead... Maybe, just maybe, we will all one day be praising the likes of President Bush and VP Cheney for securing the vast oil reserves in Iraq that countries like China and India would love to suck up!

Hi Rasputin, tonight on the CBS Nightly News China, Russia and India combined just surpassed the U.S. in total barrels used each day. The price of oil hit $120 a barrel today on the world market and investors around the world are putting their money into oil.

Also in the news tonight one of the oil gurus said he is looking for a .80 cent a gallon correction downward in the price of gasoline in the near future. Who is right who is wrong in the mean time we Americans are hurting big time at the pump. Rik Riley

Well had a $0.30/gal increase today. Yes 30 cents from 5am until 4pm today. Refinement production is at 85% and we are currently at a 15 year high on the amount of processed gasoline and diesel in our possesion. The problem is commodity speculation on Wall St. driving up the price per barrel.

When the breaking point is hit (I still say the $5/gal is the magic number) things will go from bad to worst so quickly we will wonder what happened to worse. And for those that have missed it, there is a plan for a third Contentential Congress starting soon. (was only 2 for the Revolutionary War)

This past Monday on Glenn Beck, he had a host, can't remember his name, that said $10.00 a gal. gasoline was about 3 years out. That is what the Europeans are paying right now it seems. This same man said that by 2015-20 it would be $50.00+ @ gal.
Eventually no gasoline would be available to fuel private transportation.
It will be highly regulated and rationed to military and industry only.( Bid on via auction )
The part that scares me the most, is when they talk about the natural gas that heats our homes as being unaffordable in the furture. I can walk or ride a bike, but I refuse to freeze in the winter.

I think our not so far off future is gonna suck on the big one. Nobody is going to like what is coming. We are in so much trouble...

So lets recap; Ever more expensive fossil fuels escalating towards unaffordability; No petroleum=no food,no utilities,no travel,no services =TEOTWAWKI=starving/ freezing/ dieases/ looting/rioting/murders/civil war/mass arrests/gulags/gas chambers=
the finale being: the Bilderberg Elitists classes ruling the slave labor survivors.

The idea of a self inflicted .45 cal. bullet through the roof of the mouth is starting to sound mighty good, if that is my future. [snip]Em all.

I'll take as many of them suckers with me as can, before I cash in my chips and check out. I'm not going down without a fight.

Hi UfOBountyHunter, yes the current situation looks bleak but again I have faith in my fellow Americans to pull together to come up with incredible ideas to break away from the bondage of big oil.

I believe electric cars will come on strong as well as hydrogen fuel cells for autos and trucks. Remember over a hundred years ago there were steam driven cars and in the 1920s electric cars. Rik Riley

Where I am currently living, we are paying 1.50 EURO per LITRE

1.00 EURO = 1.58862 USD
1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liter

That means that we are already paying $6.0135/ Gallon.

Yes, it ain't cheap.. but we've been paying close to this level for almost half a decade. We're still alive!

Hi mirador, thanks for sharing what your paying for gas. I figured in Europe it was very close to $6.00 per gallon compared to here in Fort Myers, Fl. where the average price is close to $3.59 per gal. for 87 octane regular.

I told of going to an energy conservation convention at the beginning of this thread. One of the owners of an energy conservation company will be introducing a revolutionary breakthrough in fuel savings technology in October 2008. The device is a nanotechnology product that sticks to the bottom of your gas tank and looks like a hockey puck and utilizes the effect of magnetic fields and infrared that successfully turns oil into tiny particles.

I was fortunate to be one of the individuals to test this product on my vehicle and noticed an increase in horsepower. I can not wait until this product will be available to the public.

I was told it would give me more horsepower and driving the car would be very smooth. I was told that because of the added horsepower I did not need to push the peddle down as much to reach normal speeds. Well they were right I thought this at first was a joke but it really works and saves me gas WOW. Rik Riley

Here you go folks here is a couple helpful hints to save gasoline at the pump.

There is one liter of gasoline difference between filling your tank at 12 noon and 12 o'clock at night, the former will be more ( because the molecule has the feature of expanding when it is hot and shrinking when it is cold). In other words fill your tank when it is cooler outside.

When filling your tank at the gas station, the gas-filing gun nozzle trigger has normally (4) different notched scales on the plastic or metal housing for the trigger latch setting. The first scale has the lowest flow rate. You should be aware of the fact that there is approximately .05 liter of gasoline more when slowly filling your gas tank than using the fourth scale, since gasoline will be mixed with air under the high flow rate giving you less gas.

In other words if you are holding the nozzle in you hand and do not use the latched settings, fill your tank slowly by pressing the trigger at a lesser flow rate. Rik Riley

Many are using Map Quest to locate the lowest priced gas stations for gasoline or diesel per gallon in our area in S.W. Florida. This has been very helpful since the average savings is approximately from 5 to 8 cents per gallon by using Map Quest to locate these lower priced stations. Rik Riley

If gas prices go to $6.oo a gallon it is only because we have all bought in to the idea that it must be so. So when is enough, enough? When do we change this world and its greed to one that can sustain life. Ihave said it once before and again I say, why do we continue to feed the industry and those whom profit by the oil companies that know they have a stranglehold on us. Why do we continue to fear all that is coming down on us cause we did not act and demand alternative sources and instead they were turned down or destroyed without our knowledge cause the greed of the oil industry and those do its bidding.

Here is one worth thinking about. All of this is being done due to the worlds in ability to feed the so called supply and demand of the world. But, the Russains have told us that oil indeed renews itself in existing wells that had been run dry. Have anyone done any further research to see if thsi can be verified and if by chance it can, then all those capped off oil wells need to opened it would seem and the control of the oil industry should then become the ownership of the world and not of the oil companies. Just a thought, since they have done a piss pour job of it.

But beware, all this problem has been a long game and so there seems to be another agenda a foot. One that would have our way of life and that of the entire world on its hands and knees due to fear, power and the control that comes of it.

Oil is symptom that has been forced upon us while we lay asleep for so long as we allowed our well being to be in others hands. So as is always the case, the choices are in our hands, we either work together and declare that the old system must die or then just sit back and prepare to feed the oil machine cause we will all need to forget about eating and eat oil instead.

I close with this...beware of the elitest world wide eugenic's program. We are inching closer every day. It is still not to late to stop it and I know that there are those out there who have the knowhow to stop all this madness.
