Do you feel weird?

How do you feel when you log on to a site like this and talk with other conspiracy people? Does it make you feel weird? Have you told anyone in real life that you are a member of abovetopsecret?

Did they think you were weird? It seems to me some people think its "weird" to believe in conspiracies, but I dont know, what do you think?

I think the word conspiracy in general draws the raised eyebrow when heard. However, I look at it more as a journey for knowledge and truth. If you believed every conspiracy to be true, then I would call you nutball. As long as you do your own research and reach your own conclusions, I think your more sane then most.

I think weird raises my eyebrow.

You aren't weird unless you're comparing yourself to someone or something else. I view my activity on this site as interactions with other humans; such interaction could take place anywhere. It shouldn't be labeled odd just because of where it takes place.

Besides, what's so weird about asking questions?

I think wierd is a good thing. A bit of wierd makes life interesting. To much can be a problem I guess, but enough makes room for art, science, philosophy, ect.
Also, this is the wrong forum for this, this forum is actually about the radio show, That's Weird! Don't worry, I've made the same mistake, apparently not many folks know about it.

Everyone I know knows I bother this site like a flea looking for blood.

I send them links and in the subject box I put, "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!"

It is not wrong to search for the truth, it is only wrong to stop searching once you think you've found it.

The truth may very well be amazing, but it's the search that keeps life interesting.

So, am I weird? I think so. Do other people think I'm weird? I don't know. They don't tell me such things. They say I'm funny (which leaves me wondering) and they say I have a comeback for anything thrown at me. They call me many things, but they never call me weird.

I wish they would.

Well as the radio show is called "Now THAT'S Weird" it sort of says where I stand on this one lol!

Weird is good - it makes people look at things they don't understand, and often don't believe (to start with), and let's face it, it is only "weird" because it is new, different and doesn't fall into that little box called "normal"!

I only feel with my hands. Not with my weirdness. There has been some disturbance in the force lately though.

I'm just saying, personally I felt a little weird referring to abovetopsecret with my real world friends, who thought I was dumb for beilieving "that stuff" on the site.
Anyone else have the same experience?

I have told a few people I know about this site...but I slowly eased them into it...first telling them "Oh I found this great site that has breaking news, space exploration breaking news, UFO photos etc..." Kind of downplaying the conspiracy sections at first

Then I started sending them links to the threads about interesting yet true stuff, such as threads I thought they could grasp such as articles about new black holes...space stuff...interesting breaking alternative news threads...

See how insidious my plan was

Once they could see that for the most part intelligent people, interested in a VARIETY of topics were sharing INFORMATION with each other...and that the information quoted had to come from sources that they themselves could judge as valid or suspect...they didn't react like OMG a CONSPIRACY SITE???

Anyway, I am constantly sending links to ATS threads to like-minded friends from the "outside" lol....none of them have joined ....yet...but that is:

Strange I feel like an outsider when I mention this site to people outside

I think people are weird that don't visit this site, or hold a general concern for the topics discussed here.

I don't feel wierd when I log on, in a way I feel at home, although there are times that I step out for a couple of days to feel the sun and all that when I have spent alot of time digesting some heavy stuff.

But..........alot of people I mention the site to do have preconcieved notions and find me wierd.

Example, I was told a series of cortizone shots may help my lower back ache that was bothering me then, yet when I shared with friends at work that it didn't want to mess around with chemicals in my spine when I eventually hope to open my pineal gland, next day one of the supervisors had drawn and cut out an eye out of paper and had it glued to his head and getting a good laugh out of the other workers.

Sure this isn't a conspiracy, the pineal gland and it's potential (Or Is It???)

But it is a comman response when you talk about something that is not in the realm of another person's thoughts to draw from.

I'd love to hear what your friends response was after you told them you were a member of a conspiracy network, lol although I have an idea what they might say already.

I definitely feel out of place when trying to express my viewpoints about conspiracy with other people unlike myself. That's why I signed up with and participate at ATS.

My stories happen to fall on deaf ears and only those who have 'been there or done that' would find that they too are not 'weird'. What is truly weird is stepping back and observing how 'normal' people would react when sharing something out of the ordinary.

So yeah, I'm weird while everyone else will fall back onto 'normalcy' just to belong somewhere, denying they are unique or different from the rest of the herd.

Im thirty and since I can remember I have always thought a little different from people when it came to the way the world works, or as we percieve it to work. And I used to think that every one thought I was "weird" but now the more I talk about it with people the more I find like minds.
