Anger over trade waste recycling

Some businesses in Devon are frustrated they are not being allowed to remove their own recyclable trade waste.

South Hams District Council does not offer a business recycling scheme and has said anyone taking waste home to recycle could face prosecution.

Currently, waste from businesses which could be saved, such as paper and plastic, is dumped with non-recyclable and placed in landfill.

The general public can be arrested and fined for not recycling their rubbish in the correct manner, so when they do try to 'do their bit' from a business point of view, that turns out to be wrong too.

I really can't believe the idea behind all this.
You'd think that the businesses would have been targeted for recycling as much as the public are.


It's morally and environmentally totally irresponsible.
