fed buying up long term food

i was surfing the net and found this posted on this sight www.internet-grocer.net...
does anyone know anything about this,i checked mountain house web sight and they are pretty much sold out of all there bulk foods.
maybe i am reading more in to this but maybe theres something going on.

I just called Mountian House foods and asked them what was up.

"We have a large back order issue right now but it has nothing to do with the Feds. Our supplier is having some issues with getting product out to us, that is all. Supply and demand is very high right now with the coming camping season and that is why we a re so behind. We have had no orders from the Feds that we know of."

They also told me they are getting many calls from this and it is just a selling tool.

yes it does , but sometimes you never know.

Oh I know. I posted a thread a few months ago along the same lines because another freeze dried food site had a strange message on it.

I think it said something like----- Due to FEMA buying 15 truckloads of our food we are down to a limited supply.

So I called the next day and found out that FEMA had done this in o5 with Katrina and they had never updated their site.

Silly sales people.
