Victoria, Australia may become a homebase for Branson's space flights.

BILLIONAIRE Richard Branson is interested in launching flights into space from Victoria.

Virgin Galactic, which is building the world's first commercial spaceport in New Mexico, yesterday confirmed its desire to set up a launch site in Australia.

The firm said Victoria was "ideal" for such a site - which experts predict could boost the state economy by as much as $460 million.
