"how many of you are here just beacuse you got to be" ?

quite a few of my highschool teachers would ask my class this..

and i'd always be one of the students that raised their hand whenever they'd ask..lol

I never had a teacher ask that question.

I really enjoyed school, always did my homework, loved
extra credit and even jumped ahead to work I knew would
eventually be assigned. High school was a little tougher though
due to all the cliques.

If they asked it, I don't recall it.

I miss H.S., like I miss root canal.

I absolutely hated it. I probably should have went to a trade school, or something else.

I ended up in the Army for a cpl years....lol. Not quite the same as a trade school, but a school none the less.

I never had a teacher ask that question, either.

Any teacher that would ask that sort of question shouldn't be teaching, in my opinion!

Any teacher with such poor diction shouldn't be teaching.

Sounds like a question born of frustration.

needless to say that
was always frustrated. we made her cry once...lol..lmao..ok so that's kinda f'd up but i mean hell we were just lil freshman.

wonder why it was always my english teachers who got a real hard time though? every single english teacher (except for my senior one) would always get messed with.

I remember a couple of times being asked that question by different teachers.
I think that is how they figured out what students were worthy of their time and effort. If a student just doesn't want to be there, some teachers won't put the effort into that student. Sad to say, but true.

Sometimes I miss High School.... I graduated with 8 people... Mostly we were friends...

Our School Councellor asked someone in my class that question once...he was the kid in the back, sleeping.

That was the only time I ever heard that question asked at school...and it wasn't even directed at me lol...

I absolutely despised high school.

In my senior year our French teacher asked why we were in school. My answer was that I was afraid my parents would kill me if I didn't graduate.

Times were different then. I graduated in 1965. We were not allowed to wear jeans or pants ( for girls lol). It was dresses or skirts and shirts. Guys could not wear their hair below the collar.

Besides quitting school, getting pregnant were the two things I knew I would be shot for. I was surprised that my brother quit school and got a girl pregnant and he still lives today.

Times sure have changed.
