So do you have to shoot them in the head, er monitor or something?

This is a real serious issue, I'm just waiting for the NSA to figure out that all of the Zombie Computers are actually hosts for an Artificial Consciousness that inhabits the Internet or maybe not.
At least yet....

Much easier to ditch Windows, failing that: keep virus and malware scanners up to date and stop surfing underground porn sites (You'll go blind anyway).

The zombie botnets have been getting worse for the last 5 years. The location I work at receives about 35,000,000 emails an hour to one cluster alone. Of those probably 1% are legit emails to our end users. I spend about 3 hours EVERY day in a quasi war with 419 phishers as well (fraud accounts followed by a targeted botnet slam).

I really despise these people, as cold as it sounds I cheered when someone murdered the Russian spam ring leader a few months ago.

I have ditched windows and now I'm the virus
I don't get much spam but right now I'm in between a blue screen of death and an xserver crash.

Too bad linux doest have 'safe mode', but windows safe mode is working(horrible resolution).

It's pretty crazy what people can do with other peoples computers..
Probably going to ban the internet and push a more 'secure' version like 'the grid.'
We need and idiot friendly computer! oh wait... *takes byte of apple*

Been 100% nix for 5 years, never had an issue.

Bleh on apple products, it's infested with freaky fanboyism, what it provides I can already do as well without paying out the rear every time a new version of X comes out.

*Flicks finger*

Oh noes, the little wannabe spam-artists are running amok.

Because that's new.
