I guess it is a monster comparable to bigfoot in Arkansas. It kills livestock and chickens, but has never harmed a human.

It's a movie. It's based on a man who is also the narrato. The little kid at the beginning of the film is him. The attack at the end of the film is documented. That person did go to the hospital for injuries, but he was so badly tramatized that he refused to speak about the incident. That area is still very wild and an unknown animal living there is not a difficult concept.
