I know a great way to love Shakespeare. On bit-torrent there are all of his plays, in audio, performed by true voice actors using proper inflection/meter and such. You read along as you listen, and it becomes beautiful.

Which one are you reading now?

And, oh yeah, Shakespeare is just some dude....

Hell, you don't even have to see it live. Just go rent Kenneth Branagh's "Henry V".

That's a terrific place to start with learning to appreciate Shakespeare's work if reading it's too boring.
