Does anyone have a copy of this document, first mentionned in the Eisenhower briefing document 209.132.68.98... and then in the SOM1-01 manual 209.132.68.98...

"should be held in continued readiness should the need to make a public announcement present itself"

Fairly well known document, but still, its a good find.

hate to bump such an old thread. But I was looking for info if anyone ever found out what the mj-1949-04p contingency plan entailed

Well i think the contigency plans are fairly obvious. World Leaders wouild take shelter in their nuclear bomb proof shelters should ET turn out to be hostile and us civvies would have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. But if ET contact is peaceful i reckon an announcement would come via the UN and the Carpenters famous Contact Day song "Calling Occupants Of Interplantery Craft would be playing all day long the the radio. Me, i'd buy a bottle of champange and tell everyone told you so !!
