I already have a substantial collection of "assault" style rifles. Yeah, AK's suck for accuracy but for reliability vs. cost they can't be beat.
In case you don't get it that's not the point.
Yeah, I get the point. You're a gun nut (sorry, "enthusiast") compensating for other "shortcomings."
The point is I'm being told for no apparent reason (even if there was a reason I'd still be pissed off) that I cannot own something in the
alleged land of the free.
Yeah that sucks. I wish I could own a LOT of things that are illegal, or priced out of my range. But there's restrictions, and the people making
those restrictions usually think they're doing the right thing.
You know where most gun control comes from? Not from Congress. They actually don't give a crap. It comes as a mandate from the People. People who
are sick of shootings in their neighborhoods, on school campuses, in shopping malls and retail stores. People who are sick and tired of burying their
children. They put pressure on their elected representatives, and gun control laws are passed. There's nothing "NWO" about it, and really nothing
sinister. Just human beings, sick of death and destruction, who want it to
end.
NOW.
You start accepting this "it's okay you don't need one anyway" attitude and all sorts of things are going to be banned.
All sorts of things are already banned, and many of them are far less harmful than guns. Marijuana, LSD, and Hashish to name a few. Certain kinds of
animals are banned for importation as pets because they're dangerous, or because careless owners might dump them off by the side of the road where
they become a threat to indiginous species. Lots of stuff is banned. You're going to find that no matter where you go, what country you live in.
There is
no such thing as a truly "free" society, because there's no way to have absolute freedom and actually still
have a society.
Absolute, unrestricted freedom is anarchy. It's the antithesis of civilization. Putting up with some ground rules is part of the price we pay to
have a civilized society.
Worse than simple shackles it's a little game of pacification they play. Deny you one thing and "allow" you another and you're supposed to
be happy with the arrangement. They do this to prisoners of war, slaves and they did it to the Jews in the concentration camps.
You're an alarmist. Nobody is actually taking away the guns you already have, and you have a wide range of guns you can still choose from. How many
different killing machines do you need? Looking for a tank to put in your garage too? How about a fully-armed F-16? Line your sidewalk with
Claymores? Why not add a SAM launcher to your patio? Where do you draw the line here? "OMG I can't have an AK-47!! I have to make do with all
the other guns I already own, and the ones CT tells me I
can buy!! Oh woe is me!! I'm so downtrodden!! Oh the drama!!!"
I feel SO sorry for you.
If you're okay with it then fine. I'm not okay with it.
Then do something about it. Work to change the law if you feel slighted. Or, as others have suggested, move to a state with fewer or no
restrictions. Nevada's nice, and Vegas is a real fun place. You can buy a massive arsenal there to satisfy all your wants and "needs". And, the
desert is a great place for your survival bunker.
Please. Get over yourself. If the worst thing in your life is not being able to buy an AK-47 you really need to get out more.
