At 1246Z DVR Vessel T142 reported to Haiphong that the DVR Tug Bach Dang
was not able to return to port.
Refrence was made to orders that as the ship met the Desoto Mission it was to avoid them.
At 1331Z T142 informed Port Wallut the tug was towing two ships of the 135.
Comment: MTB T336 was previously reported as being towed.
And with T336 added to its string, it Appears that T333 will not participate
in any military Operations.

This document is one of several readiness reports of PT boat movements by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV) after the Gulf of Tonkin Incident,
in which the DRV attacked US Naval vessels. The report is of two PT boats that were damaged and were towed back to port. This must have been either
from the initial attack or they were damaged in the US air strike that followed.
The Gulf of Tonkin Incident prompted the US Congress to pass the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which gave President Johnson authority to use military force to defend allies in the area and ultimately lead to the beginning of the Vietnam War.
