What makes you say that? Do news provider websites normally delete an article after a certain amount of time passes? I don't think that to be the case, maybe in some situations, but if you understand indexing by search engines, you want to leave all of your content so people link to it, thats how your rankings rise.

Deleting articles kinda defeats that purpose eh? Unless you have some sort of a page from that site that explains their policy of taking down articles after a set amount of time?
