WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon Tuesday made public a now-defunct legal memo that approved the use of harsh interrogation techniques against terror suspects, saying President Bush's wartime authority trumps any international ban on torture.

Everyone knows the office of legal councils opinion letters paved the way for Bush totalitarian-type leadership, but to see a memo like this in the light of day is disheartening.


"Finally, even if the criminal prohibitions outlined above applied, and an interrogation method might violate those prohibitions, necessity or self-defense could provide justifications for any criminal liability," the memo concluded.


Nicely put. If I can find a way to spin my desires so that it looks like it is in the better interest of americans, I can do it... basically.

I am all for protecting america, but this is more like protecting a personal agenda.

Well, I can see it clearly you blundering fools!
