IMHO April Fools Day should be banned. All offenders should be put in public stocks for 24 hours.

If anyone has children you will have surely have had your breath taken away several times already by now.

I have 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great nieces living within 5 minutes of my home.

I've been sent out to look for a lost dog, gone to a 4 wheeler wreck, gone to the hospital, looked for a snake and numerous other wild goose chases since 6 am this morning.

Children are so sharp these days and very convincing. BUT I've had enough. My old heart won't take much more.

Revenge is what I seek at the moment.
At 11:50 pm I will call all who have fooled me today and tell them I have fallen and broken my leg.

I'm all for having fun but enough is enough.

OK, I feel better now. Rant over.

I can understand your frustration at being caught all day long with April Fool's Day pranks. It does get tiring after a while. While I understand the frustration, I do not understand your wanting to ban it. I'm not trying to argue with you, but isn't it much better to plan on getting them with a prank or practical joke first, before they get you? I always had fun myself turning the table on those who got me first. I'm looking forward to hearing if you did indeed get someone back with a prank or practical joke. Why not get someone by putting fart power in coffee before it is brewed. This is one of my personal favorites.

Thanks for your reply.

Maybe I need to be schooled in the art of foolery.

Look for a U2U from me sometime the end of next March. With your suggestions I just may have the best laugh of all next April Fools Day.

ROFL That is too funny.

Thanks for sharing that. I'd like to be a fly on the wall at your ex wife's house when the escort arrives. LOL

I'll make sure that I come up with a good one for you next year. I'm looking forward to helping you 'get even' with the ones who got you today.

It's not about pranks. It's not about jokes. It's not about all the fake headlines on the news sites.

It's about BAD jokes, pranks, headlines. If even 5% of all the jokes and headlines i read/heard today were even remotely funny, I wouldn't mind...

however, it gets worse every single year. It's like we're moving closer and closer to the world as illustrated by Idiocracy.

I agree with scientist.

Many years ago the then BBC's news programme 'Nationwide' did an article filmed entirely in black and white, about the spaghetti harvest in Italy and how it had come early that year.

The film depicted Italian farmers harvesting spaghetti from spaghetti trees. A very good jape.

Another BBC special was about a house haunted by a malevolent Poltergeist who threw stuff across rooms, made children jump up and down from each others beds and at one point, there was an apparition appearing in the corner of a room.

Proof at last, that there are ghosts and things that go 'bump in the night!'

Unfortunately NO. It was the April Fools Day jape - another classic sting.

Then yesterday, the BBC went one better. Sir David Attenborough went on the 'Breakfast' programme to explain how they managed to get very rare footage of Adelaide Penguins 'flying'.

Priceless!

I love April Fools. As I have said on other threads, "It is all about guerrilla ontology."

I think there should be an opposite day too,
and a take you parents to school day,
and a 'national call-another-country day

I don't mind April Fool's jokes as long as they are clever.
It sounds like the OP has a family with a sense of humour.
In my cooking days I used to have so much fun with the new people.
