Bush Backing Down on FISA Fight?

After months of using politically loaded rhetoric and hyping "bogus" terror threats to push Congress to give him the domestic spying bill he's demanding, President Bush seems to be backing down.

The Wall Street Journal reports Tuesday that the White House is softening its hard-line approach to updating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

This could be potentially huge for us as americans, although I'm not going to start jumping up and down yet. But if he does back off this, it would be one of the very few smart things he's done in terms of not creating more public outrage.

But with his lust of power and control, I'm not fully convinced yet that he is going to give up so easily on his domestic spying campaign.

But, we can hope there is a god...

LOL! I thought this was an April fools for sure!

This would be great news, but you can bet that if Bush is indeed backing down, someone else in his justice department is getting busy trying to figure out a way around it.
