No, the flying penguins are real. I've had one for a few years now, we take him out at parties and stuff, he's great! We've even got him trained to drop penguin doo on neighbors we dont like.

I didn't want to view this thread this morning, because I chortled to myself, "There is nothing new under the sun!"
Grady, this is astounding! Quite an extraordinary counterexample to this maxim.
I am immediately nominating you for ATS Explorer of the Year. No, no, the Century! Please, may I call you...Sir GradyPhilpott?
I shall patiently wait another year, until you reveal to the world something else new under the sun.

I'm glad you liked it. An American living in England turned me on to it.

That's Terry Jones from Monty Python, you know.

Terry Jones!!! Wow, I thought he looked familiar but couldn't place him! Ahhh, what great comedic times in which we live. Wicked!

Can someone please play an April Fools prank and say that April Fools Day will be celebrated again next year?

We may get a funny one here, a clever one there, but when you have hundreds of millions of people thinking they're comedians and/or clever all on the same day, it tends to get just a tad annoying.

Sorry to spoil the fun. I don't mean to. It's just over-used, that's all.

You didn't spoil the fun, even if you did mean to.

It might be wise to stay off the internet on 4/1.

For the rest of us, it's fun to fool and be fooled.

In these times, it's nice to have a day of frivolity, even if, or especially if, we have to go about our normal duties.

It is my understanding that that service is not available outside the UK.

Besides, the high quality version is only available on YouTube.

It's not even that. It's just the people who think they're funny or clever that play these Kindergarten pranks. They'll say something stupid and be like "LOL APRIL FOOLS LOL!!11"

Just gets annoying sometimes is all.

This BBC one was clever and well made. But I was actually disappointed to learn it was a hoax. I guess that's what brought out all of my complaining.

Awesome

I had the sound turned down in my office so I wasn't hearing any of the commentary. When they started running and jumping and finally became airborne.. It took me a second to realize it was a spoof.

Fantastic all around (CGI & the concept)

It's not april fool's anymore, but I was DEFINITELY fooled. Too bad they can't fly, who knows, maybe they will evolve someday and WILL be able to fly.

Wish I could see the 'making of' too, but alas, Im not in the UK.

Are these new penguins? Or did we just miss them somehow? I didn't see that anywhere.

Is this just one more piece of evidence that proves evolution?

I think it's definitely an evolutionary step forward - or real evidence of intelligent designerism considering this is the first time they've been seen.

It's a miracle!
