Tri Care is the Government plan that covers military and military family members...something like 15M people total. We call it Tri and Get Care, most Doctors call it Tri and get Paid!

Social health care is wrong in so many ways.

First, although I think that law suits are out of hand, but if legitimate claims were brought by the government, would they pay? No, and if they did they could control how much they gave you, which with them is almost never enough.

Second, since when has anything the govenment done been money well and wisely spent? They can't even seem to get Social Security right, and it has been quite a while we've had that.

Third, this is a capitalist country. Everyone is provided the same opportunity (in theory) and they make or break depending. Social spending is the largest contributer to government waste there is.

Fourth, has anyone ever had government health care? I have. Military medicine is not great, but it's free. Do you think this would be different?

I will not pay taxes on other people's sickness. I have a job and can fend for myself thanks.

First as far as the frivolous claims I could almost guarantee the majority are file because the people are simply trying to get a little more money at all costs. There wouldn't be a question of how much they would give you, as there would be no price for services, medicine, etc...

Social Security is another issue, think about the number they give you this is meant for only one thing and that is for employment yet you can't get electric, phone, cable or anything without it. You can legally not provide your number and they can't refuse services but they will. The majority of the spending is done to pad public officials pocket.

Third, this is a capitalist country. Everyone is provided the same opportunity (in theory) and they make or break depending. Social spending is the largest contributer to government waste there is.
"In theory", well said the theory is as corrupt as the government though. Think back to school and the kids that got picked on. They got picked on simply because they looked different or didn't have the right clothes. Also the majority of the problem in school was the teachers singling out students to simply humiliate them or not giving them the extra help needed because they didn't come from the right family. The largest contributor to waste is black book projects and once again padded pockets.

Fourth, has anyone ever had government health care? I have. Military medicine is not great, but it's free. Do you think this would be different?
First off, its not free taxpayers are paying for your health insurance. Yes I do know it will be a lot different because there would be stipulations on what procedures or medicines you could receive.

Hello, you are already paying taxes on other people's sickness as we are for you. Taxpayers pay for your insurance as well as Medicaid and Medicare

I cannot afford health insurance for my family because the premiums in NY State are outrageous; for me to get health insurance for my family it would cost around $600/month. This is crazy and way too much for me to afford and still pay all the other bills.

I have health coverage through work and pay only 125.00 a month excluding costs for visits etc. But having a national heath plan might benefit people with cancer,aids,etc.. Why? Medicine is one of the biggest business's in the world if not the biggest. Maybe the gov't or medical industry could finally release the cures for these deadly diseases that they already have or is it a form of population control? Although I don't want to see a loss in the medical professionalism because of a national system. So which way do we go? When we have a choice and more literature then we'll know.

Exactly, Jethro - In theory.

Maybe its my humanistic streak, but I believe that in these times everyone should receive medical care free of charge. In the middle ages things were different but now, when we are so more advanced technologically and medically it is a crime to deprive a person of much needed medical aid purely because they haven't got the money to pay for it. Its not like buying a VCR or computer - this is human life we are talking about. And yes, I am saying this from the viewpoint of someone whose life was saved by such a 'socialised system' - if I had had to pay for the treatment, I doubt I would be alive now because at that point I hadn't got the money to pay for it.

I have nothing but contempt for those who put money before life. One day maybe some of those speaking against the 'socialised heath system' will need help. Well, all I can say is this : "I hope you've got a good insurance policy or a decent amount in the bank - or you are well and truly fecked"
