The alternative could be further economic destruction of the American economic system. We got a taste of what the Democrats can do to our economy when we swept out the Republicans in both the house and the senate and put in many unqualified democrats during the last election.

The stock market doesn’t react well to Democrats, and the stock market is the engine of our prosperity, without it we are a Third World Country in the making.

The Democrats control the house and the senate, if they get the White House it will be more gloom and doom for the poor and the middle class. The super rich will not be affected either way. And most of the super rich are Democrats.

At first I honestly thought the Repubs had no chance of winning the election but now with the Obamites threatening to vote across the party lines if Hillary gets the nomination, maybe McCain has a chance after all.
Not only that, lots of Libs really like him too.

Regardless of who wins, people will claim it was a stolen election.

This thread really made me laugh. Not so much because of the accusation you level against Democrats (though I wonder what precise policies they managed to enact in the last two years that brought about the outcome you suggest), but more specifically because of your apparent devotion to the notion that Republicans do any better.

These party labels are in my view completely meaningless. And nothing demonstrates that more than the experience of our nation over the past seven years.

Thanks again for the laugh.

The White House is worth stealing, look at the benefits that await the New president. Prestige, wine and dine with all the leaders of the world. A spot in the history books, and bragging rights for family members.

And what do you have to give in return, oh shucks not much, just kiss a few babies, and wear a big fat smile for the cameras.

Wow, my stocks soared under Bill Clinton, and he balanced the budget to boot.

Hmmmm, could it be the current crisis was born of years of
Anarchist economic policies of Republican deregulation
Anarchistic elective unilateral Iraq war and its concomitant spending
Anarchistic rise in oil prices
Damn, those Republican anarchists just might not be so good for this great nation after all. And no more bleeding heart Republicans to try to bring democracy to the world!

Warren Buffet, Democrat, said "It's class warfare, my class is winning, but they shouldn't be." (CNN Interview, May 25 2005, in arguing the need to raise taxes on the rich.)

Sorry, but I hold the office of POTUS in much more high regard and respect. Which is why I am appalled at the current office holder's actions, like fondling the shoulders of the female German Chancellor--he should stick to kissing babies.

Yeah, but that was also when stocks crashed big time.

Warren Buffet and many other fat-cat rich Democrats have got theirs, money that is, and don’t want the rest of us to get ours. And they do that by carping on higher taxes on the rich.

Every time the democrats talk us into raising taxes on the rich how come there is always less money in my middle class pay envelop?

Because everyone who has a job is considered rich, and will be taxed. So go ahead and vote in more Democrats so that they can go ahead and raise taxes on the rich, us, me and you.

The new democrat congress raised the taxes on the big fat oil companies and us little people cheered, and then our gas prices jumped higher. Boy are we smart. Let’s raise more taxes on those big fat corporations, that will teach them---oh, and don’t go crying when prices go up on food and other goods, because in the end the consumer pays "all" those higher taxes.

Why don't the democrats get that?

Mine did too but it wasn't because of Bill, stocks were bound to soar regardless of who would have been in office at that time simply because there was no denying the internet boom that was ready to explode.

It was coming no matter what. George senior first brought it to our attention when he referred to it as "the information super highway"

Yes, this was the counterpoint to the idea that the stock market doesn't "like" Democrats. If memory serves me, the bubble burst occurred after Clinton left office, and didn't have anything to do with Bush.
I think that bubble bust is different in nature than today's. Again if memory serves me, that burst was the too enthusiastic investment in internet stock bubble bursting, where as today the market is reacting to bad loans made by financial institutions in an era of economic anarchy, along with the weight of oil prices and low consumer confidence/spending.

When I was a kid, there was a saying, With Republicans you get recession and with Democrats you get war, stemming from the Great Depression and WW2.

I grew up in a time of great prosperity, when my Dad would come home from even a non-union business with a "profit sharing" check at the end of the year. I would much rather have every taxpayer get a "profit sharing" check for $600 as the result of being a worker in a prosperous business, helping it to grow, than a government bail out.
Of course, nowadays, a "profit sharing check" is tantamount to the evils of "socialism". I seriously doubt my Dad's boss considered himself anything other than a patriotic conservative businessman. Please, give us that check rather than a bailout.

Truly using the stock market as a tool of capitalism, as a vote in the health/belief in the health of a company, with the willingness to help it raise capital for investment, is a beautiful thing. The use of the stock market as a substitute for Las Vegas, or the use of investment money in ways that would devalue the company are not good things.

I don't care much for Rush, my concern is with the new liberal congress, and the damage they are doing to the economy.
