Listen to the destruction of society and the goverment will secretlly thank you. Kill yourselfs and your your followman. The goverment will be their to clean up the mess and blame society for the badness in todays world, The music died long ago.

"Up" Peter Gabriel

That album is AWESOME! I've been a long time Gabriel fan and when this one came out it didn't grab me. After a few listens I was hooked. I consider it one of his best. Not many people have given it the chance.

The problem with popular music is this.. there are very few albums that meet a criteria I call "All Killer, No Filler" That's when every track on the album is a great song. A masterpiece, so to speak. The business pumps it out to get the single to the radio conglomerates(you know, the ones that own almost 3/4's of all the stations out there) just so they can collect the big check, meanwhile the majority of the album sucks. And to top it all off, the single is sucky, too.

And the problem with Metallica is that they got BOB ROCK to produce them. I mean, really, the guy who was producing Motley Cru? You had to know that it would screw them up. Not to mention the guy cals himself BOB ROCK! That is just too glammy for what Metallica was originally. Kinda fits them now, though.

Rap ain't all that bad ==== Lysergic

You got that right. Along with HipHop, greatest psychological
weapon of all time. In the Al-Qaeda Rap Room, its so cool.
After just two hours, they all get the jerks. Two days, and they
have trouble finding Mecca, even though the signs all point to it.
After a week, they got "dissin ya homies" down pat.
The only down side is they cut off their lower pant legs, then
pull their pants half way down their azz, and turn their
baseball caps backwards. (Classical Regression Syndrome)
We have to keep em overseas, cause if they were in the states
and escaped into the public, we would never find them. They would fit right in.
Oh, thats also why we let them keep their Osama beards too.

Bob Rock was there for the Black Album and it was decent for Metallica, I dont say great , great was Master of Puppets, or Ride the Lightening. I see the decline starts when they made load, and it was south from there.

Bob Rock worked with the Chili Peppers on Californication and it was a pretty good album, with practically no filler that sold extremely well.

...no I didn't, I said I could forgive the discussion on cars...I didn't say I'd CONTINUE to forgive it. That was in reference to the previous car discussion that seeped into the thread. Perhaps I should have made myself more clear...which I suspect I now have.

if you want to hear good new music, its out there just not in your face. you have to search it out. the internet is the perfect tool for this. if you just listen to the radio and watch mtv, of course the stuff you are going to hear is crap because those are just venues record companies use to sell records. record companies pay to have songs played over and over again until they are drilled in our heads.

This was written from the lead singer of Tesla on the Official Tesla Website
We need positive music like this NOW!!

Hey everybody! It's me, J.K. Just a little note to say, you guys are the best!!! I love all the wonderful things you have to say, and the best part about it, it's all so genuine! The feeling is mutual my friends!! Thank God we have each other! Just wanted to share some new lyrics with you guys, Hope you can relate,(even ol' Ballsdeep) It goes something like this...

Now, if you can imagine this, the whole world sharing one big kiss
These are thoughts all through my brain, that I daydream everyday
That I'm alive and well, and right now, I'm alive, I'm feeling...well
It's my life to live my way, so I'll keep daydreaming away
And who knows, maybe someday, it will all come true
And I will get my way, and we will live as one

I'm caught up in a dream, I'm gonna wish for it all
No one's gonna tell me how, no way, this is my dream now
I'm caught up in what seems simply impossible
I ain't gonna change a thing, no way, it's my dream

And what cannot will be done, for every living thing under the sun
Forget color, forget race, and just be one big happy face
Among this sea of people, live among God's creatures, sharing love
That was sent down from above, here to share with one another
Father, brother, sister, mother, everybody sharing love, sharing love

I'm caught up in a dream, I'm gonna wish for it all
No one's gonna tell me how, no way, this is my dream now
I'm caught up in what seems simply impossible
I ain't gonna change a thing, no way, it's my dream, this is my dream

What if...I close my eyes and everything will be alright
Here in my fantasy, living in harmony
Make my dream come alive

I'm caught up in a dream, I'm gonna wish for it all
No one's gonna tell me how, no way, this is my dream now
I'm caught up in what seems simply impossible
I ain't gonna change a thing, no way, it's my dream
I'm caught up in a dream, I'm gonna wish for it all
No one's gonna tell me how, no way, this is my dream now
I'm caught up in what seems simply impossible
I ain't gonna change a thing, no way, it's my dream

Now, if you can imagine this, the whole world sharing one big kiss
Take away the pain and hurt, make like heaven here on earth
Without reason to die, and given everlasting life for all....

"I know it's a pipe dream but that just the way I feel. Hope you feel the same. Be nice kids. Remember, it only hurts when it's the truth. See ya 'round like a doughnut!!! Always a friend, J.K."

About Metallica--
I'm a die-hard 'tallica fan. They're they reason I took up playing music in the first place. I'm going to see them in April when they came 'round here...but they've been called sell-outs since Fade To Black, just because it was melodic. Along with Slayer and Anthrax, Metallica helped to create a new genre of music. I don't see them as going soft, they just re-invent themselves and their music takes a new form. Oh well, thats just my opinion...

Back on topic--i agree with a lot of you, it takes some searching to find good quality music these days, but I seem to find it. I enjoy lots of different styles, such as classical, hard rock, metal, hardcore, techno/trance, old r&b, progressive, neo-soul, and blue-grass. Your local scene is a really good place to find good bands/artists. I got into hardcore by going to a local club where From Autumn to Ashes was playing. In fact, they're one of my favorite bands now.

Well, thats all i gotta say for now.

Later.

P.S.--
Proven fact--MetallicA Rules! Bang the head that doesn't bang..
