North Korea raises tensions with missile launch

www.reuters.com

SEOUL, March 28 (Reuters) - North Korea fired several short-range missiles off its west coast on Friday, a South Korean news agency reported, in what analysts saw as a show of anger at Washington and the new conservative government in Seoul.

One was aimed at the United States after talks in Geneva, showing the North's dissatisfaction with Washington's pressure to come clean on uranium enrichment and ties with Syria, he said. The other was a riposte to the Lee government's shift in stance.

"If North Korea should attack ... we will defeat them quickly and decisively and end the fight on our terms," General B. B. Bell said earlier on Friday, before the reported missile launch.

And we will end this attack quickly???

When will this all end?

Missiles being shot at the US!!!

Actually, no. The missiles were fired off the west coast of Korea and into the Yellow Sea. The political message of the missiles was aimed at the US and South Korea.

Thanks for the correction.
Sometimes my dyslexia get the better of me.

But I don't like the idea of a message to the US with a missle anyway.

If there ever was a nation that the U.S. actually *should* have invaded, it was North Korea.

As soon as they tested a nuclear weapon, that should have been the end of them. It's doubtful they had any delivery capability at the time, meaning that despite having the bombs they couldn't have used them.

That was then. That's when we should have struck. Iraq should have never been an issue, it should of have been North Korea from the start.

I guess its that time of year again.. Same old crap from Kim.
Whenever something doesn't go his way, he just fires off a few
missiles into the Yellow Sea to show his displeasure.

Here's two of my old threads on N. Korea's missile tests:

(6/17/06) N. Korea Missile test
(6/27/07) N. Korea fires short-range missile: report

As you can see, he usually waits till June to start
these antics, and this would be the third year in a row.
I'm beginning to think its more of an annoyance than a threat.

Good find though!

It is just North Korea having another attention seeking fit.

There are countless threads on ATS highlighting what childish methods North Korea will do to get attention of the international community.
