Worried Yet? Saudis Prepare for "Sudden Nuclear Hazards" After Cheney Visit

Last Friday, Dick Cheney was in Saudi Arabia for high-level meetings with the Saudi king and his ministers. On Saturday, it was revealed that the Saudi Shura Council -- the elite group that implements the decisions of the autocratic inner circle -- is preparing "national plans to deal with any sudden nuclear and radioactive hazards that may affect the kingdom following experts' warnings of possible attacks on Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactors," one of the kingdom's leading newspapers, Okaz, reports. The German-based dpa news service relayed the paper's story.

Looks like Cheney may have tipped off the Saudis as to the upcoming nuking of Iran. Nothing would make me happier than for this to not be the case, but evidence for it seems to be mounting. To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail folks, hope for the best and plan for the worst.

Saudi is going to attack persia. one of the biggest islam nations. next to saudi itself.

50 million muslims live there. in a country of 80 million.

I think you're jumping the gun saying the US is preparing to nuke Iran. It specifically says that they are preparing for potential hazardous material if the nuclear facilities are attacked. Chinese whispers in action and a misleading title.

The title's not misleading, but you have a point about my comments that this is in preparation for ' the USA nuking Iran'. The article does state that it's in case a nuclear facility is bombed. Chinese whispers in action?

At $110 a barrel, you would think Saudi Arabia could just build a dome out of cash covering the entire country. That should sufficiently protect them from any fallout.
