Well well! How long will the BBC website stay open for and really how much does it mean for the flow of information in China?
Is this the start of a shift in foreign policy?
Quote from the second link...
"I am in China. I read the BBC News website for learning English everyday. But I often find that the stories about China diverge widely from the
truth. Why?"
Xie Huai, Zhengzhou China
Classic!
There are lots of other comments and plenty of people confirming that the whole site is accessible.
Has the BBC done some kind of a deal, allowing them greater access to Greater China?
Or did someone in China's internet control office press the wrong button?
Personally I hope that this is yet another step in the right direction for China. The more they open up the better it will be for the people of China
, the people of Tibet and oppressed people all over the planet.
