Would any of you please tell me if you or the Site-Admin would suggest that all members, who wish to post articles at this website add tags, so
when certain people use the built-in search engine at ATS, they'll easily be able to discover whether or not anyone of us has posted the same article
on this forum before they ignorantly post it (again)?
In my case (an hour ago), I searched for an article by using the keywords: "Clinton" "Lies" and "Bosnia", after I did that I didn't find
that article listed on the ATS "search results page" because obvious reasons. Therefore, I posted that article about Hillary 1 or more hours
after someone else did so, at this website.

What does "stay on the main topic of this forum-page or go back to Google" mean to you? This isn't even about you, so please leave.

Sky,
Would you like to fill our newbie Mr. Andrew in on the rights of members to post as long as they abide by the T&C?
I also think Mr. Harris could benefit from a lesson in humility.

Is there a built-in search engine on ATS? They've been using Google for a while.
The Boolean Search engine (built-in) is suppose to come back soon. (next server upgrade)
I still find it amazing how quickly Google crawls ATS. Somewhere behind the scenes is a brilliant SEO. I've seen some of my thread indexed in
under 2 hours!
Even with a built-in engine, you'd still have to wait from the "cron job" (or something) to run in order to crawl the site.
There used to be a point incentive to tag threads. i used to make it a point to tag every thread I visited. (assuming my keyword wasn't already
listed) Now, I admit, I kind of forgot about tagging. Thanks for reminding me.

I think you will have better luck looking for duplicate threads by perusing
the individual Discussion Forum Thread List ( the recent posts page for each forum) .
Usually if it's not in the first 1 or 2 pages, the last response is over 2 weeks old,
which is generally the minimum amount of time, we like to see between repeat topics.
Seems to work for me, anyway.

I'd like to see a specific search box for tags at the bottom of each thread page beside the box you add tags to, like this:
I've gotten a bit frustrated by this because I've added 16,589 total tags, and I add a few more every day. I figure if I read the thread I should
put a salient tag to it. Nearly 10% of all the tags were placed by me.
Sure, we have the tag search page, but hardly any members know it's there.

I've not been here for very long but....
What about a search cloud?
Or a tag cloud? Which shows recently tagged threads, and when you click on the keyword, you get all the topics with that keyword listed.
Might be stupid, might not even work.... but it would be

I like Balez's idea. Would any of you (respectfully referring to the Site-Admins & Moderators) please tell us what you think about Balez's idea?
Would y'all tell us if you have been considering making it mandatory for members of this website to add tags before any of us post snippets of new
articles or re-post old articles, which others have already posted in ATS forums?

I'm not a guy. So who's really being ignorant? Maybe it's the guy, who wrote this:

Please return to the topic of tagging threads instead of tagging each other or this thread will be closed immediately.

Thanks for adding tags to this forum-thread. I realize I'm a hypocrite for not adding tags to this page before you did so.

Am I missing the point, here?
I'm afraid you did miss the point.
The Google search will give you a bunch of hits, but type "add tags" into this link and you will only get the threads tagged "add tags".

We need people to add tags in the forum-threads at this website so it will be easier (if not less likely) for all of us to discover whether other
members have posted snippets of news articles or topics at ATS before any of us re-posts anything that they might have already posted without us
knowing about it.
That google search-engine doesn't find the right things we're looking for without the proper tags or special keywords, which we are desperate to
find before we start a new forum-thread.

I see what you mean. It is necessary to search for tags in large forum-sites like this one. I'm sure many people would appreciate a search box,
which appears exactly like that image you provided for us.
