A gun carried by a US Airways pilot accidentally discharged during a flight from Denver to Charlotte Saturday, according to a statement released by the airline.

Guess this will get the debate about guns and aircraft going again. It is a bit scary that it did happen, but one event of this type considering the number of flights is quite small. But then, is even one too many?

I think I would rather have armed pilots versus unarmed ones.

Edit:

No details of damage but then if it was severe I suppose we would of heard of a n airplane with problems in the air instead.
