Generation of Children 'Raised Online'
www.telegraph.co.uk
A generation of children is being "raised online" because of the amount of time they spend on the internet, new research claims.
Youngsters spend more than 20 hours a week online, says a report from the Institute for Public Policy Research.
The institute is calling for more Government and industry action to keep young people safe when they are online. It says parents often have little
knowledge of what their children are viewing.
Many young people are now "constantly connected" to the internet, the report says, staying up until the early hours of the morning on computers in
their bedrooms.
